Godspell Auditions
Bookings are now being taken for ARC's 2008 production of 'Godspell'.
Audition Requirements
- Minimum audition age is 15
- Prepare 2 contrasting songs:
- 1 x Rock / Pop Genre
- 1 x Ballad / Slow
- Please provide sheet music in the Correct Key or CD Backing Track.
- Selections from Godspell and A Capella singing is not permitted.
- A short dance audition will be part of the first round so please wear comfortable attire to your audition
Audition Dates
- Tuesday 12th February from 6pm
- Saturday 16th February from 11am
- Sunday 17th February from 11am
- Call backs will be held on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th February
Venue
Auditions, Rehearsals and Performances will be held at Banyule Theatre, Buckingham Drive, Heidelberg
Rehearsals
Godspell rehearsals commence in March on Wednesday evenings from 7pm and
Sundays from 10.30am. Godspell will be performed 4th - 12th July, 2008.

Character Descriptions
Please note that the Artistic Team are looking for the best person for each role, so age and gender are flexible (e.g. Jesus may be cast as a female)
| Jesus | | Must be most charismatic individual in the cast, high energy, charming, gentle,
but with strength. He is the sort of person others instinctively follow. |
| John the Baptist / Judas | | Like Jesus he is charismatic, but more of an overt revolutionary. He is the most serious and intellectual of the group, but must still possess a good sense of physical comedy.

| Jeffrey | | Very high energy, impish and playful.
|
| Lamar | | Not the brightest in the bunch, little slow on the uptake, but has a great sweetness and
innocence.
|
| Herb | | The comedian, the class clown. The person who can do a hundred voices and imitations. Less
of a vocalist, more a comedian role.
|
| Robin | | A bit of a tomboy, but basically open and sweet, she is first to commit to the group to
follow Jesus.
|
| Joanne | | The confident one, the show off. The first one to volunteer she often jumps before
understanding what she is jumping into.
|
| Peggy | | The shy one. Sometimes a little slow to get things, but when she does she commits all the
way. Has an Earth mother kind of warmth to her.
|
| Sonia | | Sassy, slightly cynical. The most urban of the group. Also the sexy one, but her sexiness
contains a large element of 'put - on' e.g. Madonna.
|
| Gilmer | | Another class clown. Goofy and a cut up. Less of a vocalist, more a comedian role.
